Set it up once. It handles the rest.
BrightKite syncs with Google Workspace automatically. Teachers, students, and groups stay current. IT doesn't need to maintain another user directory.
Google Workspace sync
Teachers, students, classes, and groups sync automatically from your Google Workspace directory. New students show up instantly. Departed students are removed. No CSV imports.
Domain-wide delegation
BrightKite locks documents at the domain level. Students can't unlock their own docs or remove writing protections. The security comes from the school's Google admin, not browser tricks.
Policy controls
Set school-wide defaults for copy-paste policies and annotation packs. Teachers can customize within the bounds you set. One dashboard, full control.
Activity reporting
Usage stats, adoption rates, writing activity per class and department. Know which teachers are using BrightKite and how students are engaging with writing assignments.
Common IT questions
Where does student data live?
Document content stays in Google Drive. Writing process data (keystrokes, paste logs, session timing) is stored in BrightKite's infrastructure, encrypted at rest and in transit.
What access does BrightKite need?
Google Workspace domain-wide delegation for document management (lock/unlock) and directory sync. No access to email, calendar, or other Google services.
Can students circumvent it?
The document lock is enforced at the Google domain level, not via browser extension. Students can't unlock documents, disable paste detection, or bypass the writing environment from their end.
How long does setup take?
Domain-wide delegation setup takes about 15 minutes in Google Admin Console. After that, BrightKite syncs users automatically and teachers can start assigning immediately.
